Nike Customization Is Booming in 2026 — This Air Force 1 Has a Working TV Screen

As Nike's own By You platform goes mainstream, this custom AF1 with a fully functional mini TV is still the wildest build we've seen.

Nike’s customization program is having a real moment in 2026 — the brand just launched an official Air Force 1 Low By NYC option on Nike By You days after the Knicks’ 2026 NBA Finals win, as first reported by Complex, putting personalized sneakers in the mainstream spotlight like never before. Independent customizers have been pushing the concept far further for years, and few builds capture that better than artist Gage Saunders’ (@gagekrew — see the original build on Instagram) Nike Air Force 1 “TV” — a custom AF1 with a fully functional mini television built into the heel. From shoes that can massage your feet on demand to this, sneaker customizers keep finding new ways to turn footwear into tech.

A Closer Look At The Design

The classic white AF1 serves as the base for the shoe design, to keep distraction to a minimum and let the screen take center stage, of course. Speaking of which, the little LED screen in the heel is encircled by a painted TV Box reminiscent of classic ’90s television sets, complete with antennas and dials. However, thanks to the LED inside, the “TV” is completely functioning and can display actual videos for you to watch-for instance your favourite episode of Spongebob SquarePants. It’s unclear whether this is all it can play or whether you can upload your own stuff, but in either case, you have a functional little TV on your shoe, which is pretty cool in and of itself and is sure to start a conversation or two.

Is It For Sale?

As of publish, Saunders hasn’t listed a public retail price or confirmed release date for the TV AF1. If you want a pair, the only route is contacting him directly via Instagram (@gagekrew) — preorder timing is unconfirmed, so treat this as a one-off custom rather than a standing product.

Where To Get Your Nike Air Force 1 “TV”

If you want to get your own set of Nike Air Force 1 “TV” sneakers, contact Saunders personally via his Instagram account for more information on availability and cost. However, he has already indicated that preorders will be available soon enough, so keep an eye on his social media for information on when and where to get these special sneakers.

Until then, be sure to check out other wild customs, including the Spider-Man “Mazzulla 1” Air Jordan by Shoe Surgeon, or see how far customizers have pushed the silhouette in our roundup of the weirdest Air Force 1s releasing this year.
