From self-lacing sneakers to shoes that can massage your feet on demand, Nike has a rather incredible impressive track record of innovation in their footwear designs. Yet, it is now 2024, and we have yet to see a pair in their inventory with a built-in television. Fortunately, artist and customiser Gage Saunders (@gagekrew) has filled the void with his custom Nike Air Force 1 “TV” design.
A Closer Look At The Design
The classic white AF1 serves as the base for the shoe design, to keep distraction to a minimum and let the screen take center stage, of course. Speaking of which, the little LED screen in the heel is encircled by a painted TV Box reminiscent of classic ’90s television sets, complete with antennas and dials. However, thanks to the LED inside, the “TV” is completely functioning and can display actual videos for you to watch-for instance your favourite episode of Spongebob SquarePants. It’s unclear whether this is all it can play or whether you can upload your own stuff, but in either case, you have a functional little TV on your shoe, which is pretty cool in and of itself and is sure to start a conversation or two.
