Nike Just Gave the First Sight Shadow the Metallic Red Foamposite Treatment

The Foamposite-inspired silhouette adds to its stealthy black-and-chrome looks with a candy-red finish that channels one of Nike’s most iconic colorways.

Even with its under-the-radar marketing, Nike’s First Sight Shadow has quietly become one of the more interesting shoes in the women’s lineup this year. It doesn’t have the hype of a retro or a collab, just a new silhouette built on a tried-and-tested skeleton.

After debuting in ‘Triple Black’ and following up with ‘Metallic Silver’, the newest iteration is ‘Light Crimson’. Is this a nod to the beloved Metallic Red Air Foamposite One? We think it could be.

The recognizable wavy lines come directly from the Foamposite franchise, a design detail that somehow still looks futuristic nearly three decades later.

The new look matches the name, with a glossy candy-red along the shell upper. This vibrant shade is paired with a solid black sock liner and matching sculpted midsole. Metallic silver details (including a mini Swoosh and beaded heel grid) add another modern element.

Nike First Sight Shadow ‘Light Crimson’: Release Details

  • Silhouette: Nike First Sight Shadow
  • Colorway: Light Crimson
  • Style Code: HQ2410-600
  • Price: $145
  • Sizing: Women’s sizes, up to size 11
  • Release date: September 15, 2026 (already out now)

This is the third colorway in the First Sight Shadow rollout — following Triple Black (HQ2410-001) and Metallic Silver (HQ2410-002) — and all three have launched at the same $145 price point, so Light Crimson isn’t a premium markup over its siblings.

What Nike’s Designers Say About the First Sight Collection

Nike shared an official press release accompanying the First Sight collection, which also included the Noir and Mirage silhouettes. Here’s what was said:

Jeff Scott (Expert, Energy Footwear): “We wanted to ground this collection in Nike’s athletic DNA while opening it up to the future through the lens of sportswear made distinctly for her.”

Thomasin Hummerstone (Senior Director, Energy Footwear): “These shoes were truly made from scratch, with our designers gathering insights from around the world to create new art forms that speak to today’s female athlete.”

A lot was said about athleticism, but this sneak (despite its basketball feel) is not built for playing hoop. It’s actually a comfy lifestyle shoe made for post-game recovery and slip-on convenience.

How Sneakerheads Are Reacting to the First Sight Shadow

A collab Insta post between @soleretriever and @frankcooker has drummed up a (mostly) positive response, with comments like:

@josh_amg: “I hear Frank. I do..But in the same vein, the sneaker has to do the story telling, not the designers.”

@justavirgoandacapricorn: “Definitely reminiscent of foams 🔥 but definitely would like better with laces”

@giuseppejoe32: “🔥🔥 You and the team ain’t messing around. We’re here for it”

Unfortunately, this photo carousel doesn’t feature the ‘Light Crimson’ colorway, but it’s still interesting to see what people think about the First Sight Shadow Collection. Most of the posts unveiling the new colorway haven’t gotten too much attention, yet.

Where to Buy the Nike First Sight Shadow ‘Light Crimson’

If you love the look of this shoe, the good news is that you don’t need to wait for them to drop. These were released on September 15 and are already available through SNKRS, as well as in-store at select premium boutiques and Nike flagship locations (while stocks last).

Missed out on SNKRS? The pair is also listing on the resale market — check GOAT’s Light Crimson listing for current availability and pricing.
