It’s a big year for LeBron James. He knows it. Fans know it. And Nike knows it. So the Swoosh brand isn’t taking his 23rd signature sneaker lightly. And why would they? The man has spent 15 of his 21 NBA seasons rocking the number 23, and now the Nike LeBron 23 arrives with as much storytelling as it does tech. For LeBron fans, the Forever King collection is a career highlight reel you can actually wear.
The LeBron XXIII kicks things off with the “Uncharted” colorway, celebrating James’ historic 40,000 career points. It’s drenched in iridescent gold with a diamond-pattern knit upper and a 40K heel graphic. Each sneaker in the lineup will come with its own heel logo, a matching charm, and even a booklet mapping out all 23 stories tied to the King’s milestones. Packaging is split into three eras: “The Chosen 1 Arrives” (2002–2010), “Taking the Throne” (2010–2018), and “Long Live the King” (2018–present).

Next up in the lineup is the “Miami Twice,” a nod to James’ back-to-back championships with the Miami Heat, and “The Chosen One and the One Who Chose,” a mismatched gold-and-purple pair celebrating LeBron and Bronny becoming the NBA’s first father-son duo to play on the same team. Yes, that really happened in October 2024.
The LeBron 23 debuts Nike’s first full-length ZoomX drop-in midsole in the line. It’s lightweight, responsive, and, according to Nike senior director Ross Klein, directly connects foot to foam. “There’s nothing that beats ZoomX: The energy return, the responsiveness, the weight, the sensation—it hits every level of what athletes love,” Klein said. Adding stability is a carbon fiber shank, while traction is covered by a multidirectional pattern etched with the number 23.

LeBron himself is hyped: “The LeBron XXIII reflects the deep partnership I have with Nike, pushing the limits of design and innovation to create a new signature shoe that powers my game and tells the story of my career. Over two decades later, we’re still going strong, inspiring the next generation with a shoe that’s made for greatness.”
This whole rollout has been timed with LeBron’s Forever King Tour of China, marking his 15th visit to the country as a Nike athlete and the 20th anniversary of his first Asia tour. If anything proves Nike and LeBron’s shared belief in building global basketball culture, it’s this milestone.
The Forever King collection kicks off with the Nike LeBron 23 “Uncharted”, which launches September 25 in China before hitting select retailers and Nike.com globally on October 3. More colorways will follow into the holiday season, each with its own story, charm, and collectible packaging.
