It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost four decades since fans were introduced to the sci-fi favourite, RoboCop. It honestly doesn’t feel that long ago that we were watching the mix of man and machine kick butt first and ask questions later. But even after all the comic books, video games and TV series featuring the cyborg police officer, it still feels like we’re missing something. Perhaps a special-edition RoboCop x Air Jordan 9 sneaker?
Imagining a RoboCop Air Jordan 9 Concept
Oh, the dreams that would have been realised if we were offered a chance to sport a futuristic pair of Jordan kicks inspired by the Cyborg’s sleek armour and advanced technology back in the ’80s. A clean design with metallic highlights and the famed RoboCop logo plastered somewhere on the uppers. We definitely would have paid a pretty penny to own a pair of kicks like that.
This missed opportunity has us pining for all that could have been in the world of RoboCop merchandise. So, we’ve decided to fix that by creating our very own RoboCop Air Jordan 9 concept.
Thanks to the creative minds of our very own designers at Sneaker Fortress, we imagined RoboCop’s iconic suit details on the classic Tinker Hatfield-designed silhouette. From his sleek silver armour to his signature visor, every tiny detail has been thoughtfully woven into the sneaker design.
Design Details Inspired by RoboCop’s Armour
Of course, the uppers of this RoboCop x Air Jordan 9 concept are covered in silver leather, but there’s also a slight touch of blue at the toe that captures the metallic sheen of the cyborg’s armour.
From there, the shoe features a red and black interplay on the mudguard, inspired by RoboCop’s visor, while the red detailing continues in the mudguard’s stitching details. Other details include a black tongue, collar and inner lining plus shiny silver pull tabs on the heels.
Futuristic Finishing Touches
To add a touch of flair, a RoboCop tag is attached to the sneaker’s metallic silver laces. The tag displays an image of Metal Arm of the Law himself, just in case you didn’t already make the connection from the uppers.
Finishing things off is a silver and black sole that amplifies the futuristic feel.
Could Nike Ever Release a RoboCop Air Jordan?
This mesmerising Air Jordan 9 concept might be just a dream for now, but we’re hopeful about seeing this design (and many others) come to life soon.
