Let us take you to the gritty streets of 1980s Miami. It’s here that an ambitious Cuban immigrant, Tony Montana, fiercely climbs his way to the top of the drug trafficking world. His unrelenting ambition leads him down a path marred with violence, betrayal, and, ultimately, his heartbreaking descent. Of course, I’m just reminiscing about the 1983 cinematic masterpiece that is Scarface. If this wonder of the film world isn’t already part of your ‘watched list’, you’re missing out on a compelling saga of power, unbounded greed, and a ruthless drug lord’s rise and tragic fall. And any of those who are familiar with the film are bound to appreciate this stylish concept sneaker designed by Dariyn Enriquez. Allow us to introduce you to our ‘little friend’; say hello to the Scarface x Nike Dunk Low.
Scarface: A Timeless Classic
So, what has made Scarface such a standout gangster film in movie history? Well, a lot of it’s down to Al Pacino’s incredible performance as the infamous Tony Montana. Some would argue that Pacino is at his finest when he’s playing characters with a bit of a dark side- and they would be one hundred per cent correct.
The film also doesn’t shy away from exploring heavy themes like ambition, morality, and the American Dream. At first, Tony might seem like someone you root for, but his heartrending descent into a world driven by power and greed keeps you on the edge of your seat. Throw in some memorable quotes (like the one alluded to above) and stylised scenes of violence, and you have a stunning movie that still resonates with audiences decades later. Plus, the pure nostalgia of this film is even more of a reason why fans of this movie need these epic Scarface x Nike Dunk Low sneakers.
Breaking Down the Scarface x Nike Dunk Low Design
What draws your immediate attention to these kicks is their unique split-colour design. One side is a standout black, while the other covers itself in clean white. This distinct design takes inspiration from the famous movie’s poster, even sporting the same bold red accents to resemble the original font from the artwork.

Let’s start with the lateral side of the shoe first. This side features black as its primary hue, with striking white trim adorning the overlays. The quarter panels boast an exotic black crocodile leather that is as eye-catching as it is elegant. The ever-popular Swoosh on this side shines out in popping red leather framed in white. And, for an extra touch of thematic flair, a “Tony Montana” signature in glossy gold graces the mudguard.
Now, shifting to the medial side of the shoe. It’s all about clean, fresh white leather here with a contrasting red Swoosh trimmed in black. However, there is added visual intrigue with several black graphics scattered along this side. From bullet casings celebrating the movie’s gangster narrative at the toe and mudguard to iconic palm trees that instantly evoke Miami vibes from the quarter panels to the heel, there isn’t a single detail that hasn’t been carefully considered in this design.
We see another homage to the iconic character in the form of the Tony Montana logo embellishing the tongue of the shoe. Both sides are harmonised beautifully with the crisp white accents along the shoe’s inner lining and laces. Finally, completing the look is a clean white midsole coupled with a striking red rubber outsole, offering a flawless finale to this pair.
