Oreo-toned footwear is an increasingly apparent theme in Nike’s sneaker ranges, particularly within the FlyKnit category. We’ve seen renditions like the Nike Flyknit Racer’ Oreo 1.0′, Nike Kobe 10 Elite Low HTM ‘Oreo’, and even the Nike Dunk Low Flyknit ‘Oreo’ taking on this popular colour mix. Riding this wave, Nike introduces a newbie to the flavourful family – the “Oreo” Vapormax Flyknit 2023.

If we’re painting a fair picture, the Nike Vapormax Flyknit 2023 already has an “Oreo” version. An eye-catching black-and-white model was released in April 2023 to launch this novel sneaker. However, this newer interpretation does stand apart in certain respects.

The tongue, for instance, sports a neat white knitted fabric, offset attractively by black labels carrying the Nike Swoosh and “Vapormax” branding. The white continues on the eye stays, pull tabs, and at the heel for its own distinct and unique look.

The difference is visible in the sole unit, too. This shoe opts for a black midsole and combines it with a beautiful ice-white transparent outsole—quite spectacular, really- with a kind of iridescence that captures the light mesmerisingly.

From there on out, most other features maintain a level of familiarity. There’s a stunning black knitted upper with white stitching details that correspond with the placement of the lace holes. The Swoosh logo on the side is pure white, moving down into a speckled black-and-white design. It may seem an odd thing to say, admittedly, but this stunning detail rather intriguingly resembles the look of a crushed Oreo cookie. For those who have ever ventured into the art of baking, you would definitely make the link.

The design also comes with standard black laces, but there is scope to switch gears with a pair of white laces that would sync up nicely with the details on this pair. Still not sure? A perfect example would be the Off-White x Nike Air VaporMax from Virgil Abloh’s legendary “The Ten” assortment in 2017. The design features a white tongue combined with coordinating white laces – an absolute dream team. Though, you can’t deny that the staple black laces look simply stunning in this new colourway.

Undoubtedly, all the slight variations in colours add a dash of spice to this pair’s aesthetics. Yet, thankfully, enough of the base design remains familiar enough to assure you that this Oreo version of the Vapormax Flyknit 2023s is as versatile as every Nike “Oreo” design that precedes it. It definitely makes these a must-have for fans of the Vapormax Flyknit 2023 or Nike’s “Oreo” colourways, for that matter.

If you’re keen to grab a pair, anticipate a release via Nike.com and various selected Nike retailers, retailing at $210 USD. Unfortunately, no more information on the Nike “Oreo” Vapormax Flyknit 2023 has been disclosed. So, be sure to check for updates over the forthcoming weeks. In the meantime, you can follow us for more info on the latest releases and reviews in the sneakers domain.

What’s your take on the upcoming Nike Vapormax Flyknit 2023 in this “Oreo” colourway? Is this your ideal “Oreo” colour combo, or did you prefer last year’s version more?
