The Nike Air Force 1 has cemented itself as a perennial favourite in the coveted sneaker catalogue of the iconic brand. It’s one of those styles that you’ll often spot being the star of special editions and cross-brand partnerships. So, as the Chinese New Year looms, it was expected to see a special edition Air Force 1 Low “Year of the Dragon” taking centre stage among Nike’s sought-after releases.

Crafted in a beautiful mix of “Sail”, “Vapor Green”, “White”, “University Red”, and “Bright Crimson”, this coveted sneaker model is an aesthetic delight. Most of the upper is enveloped in an understated “Sail” leather with a smooth finish. To make things even more interesting, an embroidered, scale-like pattern adorns the matching mesh tongue, maintaining harmony in design.

Now, your attention has probably already been drawn to the distinctive Nike Swooshes and heel tabs, meticulously crafted in white leather that recreates the unique texture of dragon scales. Ingeniously thought out, this design also incorporates a ‘Vapor Green’ underlay concealed subtly behind the Swoosh, teasing out an element of surprise.

But with that said, you may still be asking yourself, how does this Air Force 1 Low “Year of the Dragon” stand out from the myriad of other dragon-inspired sneakers we’ve seen before? Well, it all comes down to the fine details. Nike has cleverly incorporated a beautifully crafted dragon charm that dangles from the laces, adding an element of flair to these shoes (isn’t it absolutely stunning). Paying tribute to the richness of Chinese culture, you’ll also spot stylishly assembled patterns adorning the tongue tags and insoles.

One eye-catching feature of these sneakers is the plush, colourful cloud designs that complement the famous Nike branding on the insoles, drawing you deeper into the shoe’s overall theme.

Besides the dragon and cloud details, a petite blue Nike emblem is tastefully positioned on the mudguard, and the signature “Nike Air” is boldly displayed on the heel. These elements, combined with a classic “White” midsole resting upon a chic “Sail” rubber outsole, truly make these sneakers a must-have for any enthusiast.
