Can you believe it’s been 36 years since we first met the iconic and enduring sci-fi favourite, RoboCop? A mix of man and machine, this dynamic crime-fighter quickly secured a spot in pop culture. From comic books and video games to TV series, the cyborg police officer captured our imagination. However, one official collaboration we never got the chance to see was a special-edition RoboCop Air Jordan sneaker.

Oh, the possibilities that could have been sporting a futuristic sneaker design inspired by the Cyborg from Detroit’s sleek armour and advanced technology back in the 80s. Picture a clean, modern sneaker with metallic highlights and the famed RoboCop logo. Die-hard fans of the RoboCop franchise and sneakerheads would have undoubtedly been queuing up for their chance to own such a unique and rare pair of sneakers. It’s a missed opportunity that leaves us wondering what could have been in the world of RoboCop merchandise. But we’ve decided to fix that by creating our very own RoboCop Air Jordan 9 concept.

Thanks to the creative minds of our very own Brandon Krige and Jarrod Saunders, we have used the Jordan 9 silhouette as a canvas to reimagine RoboCop’s iconic design elements. From his sleek silver armour to his signature visor, every tiny detail has been thoughtfully weaved into the sneaker design. The result? It’s a stunning fusion of sneaker culture and RoboCop nostalgia that we’ve been bursting to share with fans of both.

The RoboCop Air Jordan 9 concept showcases a silver leather upper with a delicate blue gradient effect, tapering towards the toe and again at the heel. This aesthetic detail succeeds in creating a futuristic and powerful look, echoing RoboCop’s smooth armour. The silver hue also extends to the Air Jordan 9’s laces and heel tab, ensuring a harmonious and polished visual.

The sneaker’s black mesh tongue and collar contrast perfectly against the silver upper. The black hue is yet another clever throwback to the unmistakable RoboCop design, where the black accents mirror the dark elements of his suit.

The mudguard, with its red and black interplay, is inspired by RoboCop’s visor. This design detail adds an extra nod to the legendary character, replicating the primary visual feature that personifies RoboCop. The red also appears on the Jordan branding on the tongue, paying tribute to RoboCop’s red accents with a pop of bold colour.

To add a touch of flare, a RoboCop tag is attached to the sneaker’s metallic silver laces. The tag boasts an image of Metal Arm of the Law from the well-loved 80s movie. The inclusion of the tag adds a delightful touch to this Air Jordan 9 prototype.

The beautiful upper sits on a silver and black sole that amplifies the futuristic feel. This clever blend of silver and black offers visual interest and adds a touch of modern sleekness to the overall design.

This mesmerising Air Jordan concept might be just a dream for now, but we’re hopeful about seeing this design (and many others) come to life soon.
