adidas has always pushed training to the next level. The company has been innovating since its early beginnings decades ago and has never shied away from progress. We saw similar strides made towards the end of 2025 with the likes of the Adizero EVO SL ‘Earth’ and Fear of God x adidas ‘Athletics II’ drops. This inspiration continues into 2026, setting an early benchmark with the release of their latest trainer, the adidas Dropset 4.

The trainer has been designed for versatility, engineered for the high demands of multiple-discipline workouts and exercises that many push themselves toward. With the Dropset 4 trainer, the footwear delivers both controlled stability underfoot as well as the explosiveness required for a wide range of movement.

Backed by research, where statistics indicate that up to 70% of gym-goers where the incorrect footwear for their respective workouts, the Dropset 4 was created from a commitment to assist the community to achieve their goals, aided by a single shoe. adidas designed a training shoe that is everything it requires to be for functional training, irrespective of your workout or progress level.

The Dropset 4 is an evolution of the Dropset 3, which features a mix of technology, features and aesthetics for an all-around functional trainer. The enhancements have created a robust shoe offering support across the spectrum. These include the following:

  • Full-Length Repetitor foam: This provides a consistent level of energy return and stability, while also supporting endurance for any workout
  • Energyrods: A staple for modern trainers, it has been engineered for a balance of stiffness and flexibility, especially for exercises like box jumps and skipping
  • Continental & Adiwear rubber combination: This technology offers extra traction and durability for loaded movements like sled pushes and weighted lunges
  • Footadapt sockliner: The FOOTADAPT technology improves the balance control to maintain form and maximum muscle engagement
  • Haptic print: With an upper 3D printed layer of textured material, it provides increased durability against abrasion

adidas has launched the Dropset 4 alongside its ‘All You Need’ campaign. for functional training, demonstrating its capabilities across lift, jump, and run movements. Hungarian competitive training athlete Laura Horvath recently wore the Dropset 4 to victory with a result in first place at one of the world’s most elite fitness stages in Aberdeen in October 2025. This event showcased the Dropset 4’s support for athletes of all levels, whether everyday gym-goers or elite athletes.
