The Day of the Dead isn’t just about mourning. It’s also about honoring loved ones with joy, color, and tradition. And by making Día de los Muertos sneakers a yearly ritual, Jordan Brand seems to get it. For 2025, the Air Jordan 1 Low “Somos Eternos” might be the most vibrant take yet, and it’s already dividing fans online.

On Instagram, sneakerheads wasted no time weighing in. Some couldn’t get enough: “These fire fr” and “I want them.” Others weren’t convinced, with comments like “I don’t understand the colorway” and “Box is better.” One even said, “Not shouting dia de los muertos at all for me.” It’s the kind of split reaction that usually means… well, that the sneaker will probably sell out pretty fast anyway.

“Somos Eternos” translates to “we are eternal,” a phrase that fits the holiday perfectly. While death might be the theme, Día de los Muertos is full of life, color, and symbolism. The Air Jordan 1 Low “Somos Eternos” channels that through a mix of soft creams, baby blues, and shades of pink that run from laces to outsole. The Swoosh is especially eye-catching: a cobblestone-like texture in pink and gray with perforated edges that give it extra dimension. On the tongue, a square pink leather patch shows an embossed sun icon, tying into the marigold tradition of guiding spirits home.

Of course, the Air Jordan 1 Low “Somos Eternos” design doesn’t stop at the sneaker itself. The special box feels like part of the celebration. It’s done in black with gold “Somos Eternos” and Jumpman branding, plus a sticker of two candles where the flames curl up to form “23.” Inside, a black insole decorated with a skull and flower graphic drives the theme further.

Release timing is split depending on where you live. Japan is getting first dibs on September 8 at atmos, with a wider release expected closer to the holiday in late October or early November. Prices range between $135 and $145, depending on region. Expect pairs of the Air Jordan 1 Low “Somos Eternos” to land on the SNKRS app and at select retailers worldwide.
