Nike Is Reviving The Air Max SNDR “Canyon Gold”

Nike is reviving the classic 1999 Air Max SNDR silhouette, and one of the standout choices is the striking "Canyon Gold" colourway.

There’s a lot to celebrate in Beaverton, Oregon, this year. Not only is 2024 ushering in a new era for the brand with the release of the Air Max Dn, but the Swoosh Label is also honouring the 25th anniversary of a long-missed classic, the Air Max SNDR. Nike is pulling the 1999 Air Max SNDR design from the vault in a series of OG colourways, including its eye-catching “Canyon Gold” iteration.

A Closer Look at the Sneaker

Dressed in familiar “Deep Ocean,” “Gold,” and “Deep Yellow” hues, this design is crafted from stretchy spandex-esque fabric that transitions from a vibrant yellow at the front to a warm marigold shade towards the heel.

The Air Max SNDR further stands out with its unique lacing system. In addition to the eye-catching black zip that runs up the front, a set of conventional laces is discreetly tucked inside, offering a perfect blend of style and functionality that truly sets it apart.

You’ll also notice pull tags on both the tongue and heel, which enhance the model’s ease of use, along with the distinctive perforated TPU panels along the sides (which are reflective may I add). And of course, no Nike design is complete without the iconic Swoosh—seen here as a miniature touch on the lateral sidewall.

Finally, to close off this fusion of futuristic and retro design, the sneakers boast a chunky white Air midsole, complemented by a black rubber outsole, and a visible Air unit in the heel. Honestly, these kicks are true throwbacks that somehow still manage to retain their modern appeal even after many years and minimal, if any, alterations.

Nike Air Max SNDR “Canyon Gold” Release Details

The Nike Air Max SNDR is set to drop sometime this autumn. These beautiful yellow kicks will be available at a retail price of $180 USD from Nike.com and select retailers. But if this colourway’s return to true OG form wasn’t enough, the upcoming releases also mark the model’s mainline return to the Nike lineup. So, if you’ve missed this retro silhouette from the late ’90s, now is your wallet’s time to shine.

While we await a more concrete release date, you can check out these remarkable Nike releases for June. And while you’re at it, don’t miss the Jordan June releases for some inspiring options. And remember to follow us here at Sneaker Fortress for more sneaker drops and reviews.
