Nike SB Dunk ‘Can’ Serves Up A Fresh Take On A Classic

This AI-concept sneaker reinvents the iconic SB Dunk with a creative recycled “can” design that’s turning heads in the sneaker community.

It isn’t unusual to see popular beverage brands team up with sneaker companies to create limited-edition kicks. We’ve already had Coca-Cola collabs with both Converse and PUMA on some cool pairs, while Pepsi, Shaq and Reebok made a shoe that could house a full can of Pepsi Mini in the sole! But surprisingly, none have had the idea to incorporate their actual can packaging directly onto the sneakers themselves, but artist Rohit Kumar did.

Kumar used Dreamina AI to showcase what the Nike SB Dunk Low and High silhouettes might look like dressed as the cans from three popular beverage brands: Coca-Cola, Pepsi, and Red Bull.

This Is What a Louis Vuitton Air Jordan 1 Would Actually Look Like

Think glossy patent leather overlays, plenty of branding, actual can inserts on the quarter panels on select designs, and even a few pairs with a crushed effect on the midsole. We already love a patent leather shoe, and these kicks just take the finishing one step further.

Nike SB fans in the comments section appear to be vibing with Kumar’s designs too, with one commenter saying, “@nikesb Less get-itttt!!!”, while another added, “These are so wavy.” Still, one response that jumps out the most is from sneaker artist Caleb Williams, who writes, “Lowkey feel like I inspired this.”

Caleb has been known to include cutouts from metal cans and even plastic bottles of popular drinks into his custom sneaker designs. And he always manages to achieve a creative look, whether it’s sewn onto the sides or strategically placed on the tongue and toe box.

Caleb’s sneaker designs show us that adding cans to sneakers isn’t out of the realm of possibility. So, hopefully, one day we’ll see an official collab where the companies involved make use of this unique style as well, at least just one pair.
