Choosing the right clothes for the right occasion is a notion that dates back decades. That idea hasn’t changed recently but has only pushed us further into exploring our unique and personal styles for every occasion. Initially a key factor in the corporate world, especially during important job interviews, the concept has extended far beyond the office into various elements of culture, even when exploring the outdoors on your next hiking trail. PUMA has partnered with Skepta for its second collab in 2024. The PUMA x Skepta drop conceptualizes this ideal, delivering a stylised footwear, apparel and accessories collection.
As seen in the first drop, the second collection also features Skepta’s distinct style and cultural influence paired with PUMA’s rich archive. The latest collection includes a tech-luxe range, fusing the different backgrounds that features stealthy Pertex-equipped outerwear, accessories, which was specifically designed for the outdoors.
The new Skope Forever Mid expands upon the debut sneaker from the first drop and highlights an outdoor-inspired design. Its leather upper features contrasting hues and laces that stand out against the backdrop. It reminds me of the classic brown Hi-Tec sneakers that were popular throughout the 90s—rugged and ready for any off-road challenge.
The apparel lineup features a uniform-inspired aesthetic. This includes the Pertex Vest, which offers zipped storage and the exclusive PUMA x Skepta badge, the Knitted Scuba Longsleeve, crafted with advanced 3D-knitting techniques, as well as the Graphic Tee to round off. Black-out accessories like the PUMA x Skepta Boonie Hat and the adjustable 5-Panel Cap were added to the mix to round off the collection.
I like the minimalist approach of the collection, with black-out apparel and accessories, which contrast against the much bolder and rugged approach of the paired footwear.
The spirit of hiking and exploring the great outdoors continues with the latest PUMA x Skepta collection, which will be released on 2 November 2024.
