Who doesn’t recognise the stylish sneaker collaborations between Jordan Brand and Travis Scott? Their creative alliances on the Air Jordan 1 Low have established quite a distinct look, particularly regarding colour blocking and choice of palette. Not only do these designs usually favour darker tones like black and olive or even navy blue, but there is also a very specific placement of colours. However, the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low “Neapolitan” customs by Huy Le take a refreshingly different approach.

What’s Your Flavour?

Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low "Neapolitan"

Travis Scott’s collaborations on the Air Jordan 1 Low have undeniably dominated the custom sneaker landscape. Nearly every custom design nowadays includes a backward Swoosh, with re-envisioned colour schemes ranging from the traditional “Chicago” palette to the divisive Tiffany and AF1 collab from 2023. Yet, Huy Le’s recent interpretation (Le himself is no stranger to TS customs) brings a fresh look to the rapper’s aesthetic, sprinkling the AJ 1 Low Sneaker with mouth-watering Neapolitan Ice Cream shades. Think enticing “Vanilla,” “Strawberry,” and “Chocolate Brown” hues. Not to mention, the slightly aged look adds another level of charm to the design. But make no mistake, this isn’t the typical Travis Scott colour-blocking. Huy Le’s custom design takes on a personalised tone.

Take the “Vanilla/Strawberry” pair, for example. An aged white leather canvasses most parts of the shoe with a hint of light brown on the lining and heel tab, gently contrasting the aged white. There’s unimaginable depth to the “Strawberry” shade of the tumbled leather Swoosh and laces, all rounded off to perfection with an elegantly aged midsole and a complementing beige rubber outsole.

Its sibling shoe offers a complex melody of colours. Starting with the same worn white leather base, it wears the captivating “Strawberry” hue on its mudguard, eyestays and heel counter. A pleasant light brown then accents the inner lining, heel tab and laces, while a bold “Chocolate Brown” coats the suede reverse Swoosh. This arresting logo is directly matched by the brown tongue labels adorned with “Nike Air” branding in strawberry colour. The overall style is harmonised in a manner similar to the first pair—an aged midsole and a gentle beige rubber outsole.

Unarguably the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low “Neapolitan” pack provides a much-needed, mellower perspective on the typical TS x AJ1 Low collaborations. Needless to say, these sneakers have our seal of approval.

Can We Expect More Travis Scott x AJ 1 Low Collaborations?

Despite rumours that Travis Scott is officially retiring from his AJ 1 Low collaborations, the current year promises three fresh colourway versions of the famous team-up. Unfortunately, none of them will be available in our favourite Neapolitan colours.

However, if Huy Le’s custom designs have grabbed your interest, feel free to connect with the artist through his Instagram handle, @chefhuyle. While these pairs look good independently, they also make a stylish mismatched set. So, be sure to check them out. In the interim, you can also follow us for updates on more custom and concept sneaker designs.
