The live-action One Piece series has made quite a splash on Netflix! It’s the anime come to life that’s taken fans by storm, compellingly materialising their beloved characters on the screen. The entrancing visuals, captivating storytelling, and memorable performances have grabbed viewers’ attention globally. Given this sweeping success, it was only a matter of time before a voyage into the exciting world of sneaker culture was undertaken. It was inevitable. A concept One Piece sneaker was just waiting in the wings, ready to cater to the adventurous spirit of fans and sneakerheads alike.
Enter custom sneaker artist Allen Joshua Llaguno of @aj.customkicks. Drawing inspiration from the lively world of this celebrated series, he has created an Air Jordan 1 Low One Piece sneaker concept paying tribute to the swashbuckling aesthetic of the show’s main character, Monkey D Luffy.
Monkey D. Luffy, also known as “Straw Hat Luffy,” is a charismatic and determined pirate with the ability to stretch his body like rubber. Luffy is constantly pursuing his dream of becoming the Pirate King and finding the ultimate treasure, One Piece. This treasure is said to grant immense power and wealth to whoever possesses it.
While searching for the elusive treasure, the pirate captain and his ragtag crew (the Straw Hat Pirates) encounter many unique and diverse characters, navigate treacherous seas, and engage in epic battles against powerful foes – all while Luffy dons his signature bulbous straw hat.

The Air Jordan 1 Low “One Piece” sneaker design takes inspiration from the young pirate’s signature aesthetic. Dominating the sneaker’s canvas are vivid, deep red and fleshy hues. These dominant shades are then offset brilliantly by bright yellow and blue accents that inject bursts of dynamic colour into the footwear.
The shoe’s commanding shades of rich red on the mudguard, top half of the eyestay, heel, and collar are reminiscent of Luffy’s iconic red vest. At the same time, a blend of skin hues embellishes the toe box, mid-panel, and midsole, echoing Luffy’s skin tone.
The design is further enriched by vivid yellow details on the swoosh and laces, a nod to Luffy’s yellow obi. A pop of blue then makes its way onto the overlays, a reference to Luffy’s Azure shorts. To wrap up this stylish homage, the lining and tongue of the sneaker are jet black, just like his hair. The final decorative touch is the carefully situated Straw Hat Logo on the tongue, Luffy’s pirate crew’s emblem, a fitting addition to any sneaker inspired by the iconic character.
