There’s an undeniable appeal to making something your own, adding a personalised finish to a car, surveying your work, and knowing it’s unique — just like you. The same can be said for the realm of customised sneakers, where a subtle design change can make the shoes feel uniquely yours. But every now and then, these two hobbies overlap, and the design of a tailor-made car can serve as the muse for a specially designed sneaker. This is the compelling story behind the Most Wanted BMW M3 Nike Dunk Low sneakers, brought to us by custom sneaker artist Mr. Simply Custom (@mr.s.custom).

Fuelled by Need For Speed Most Wanted

If you’re a fan of the much-loved video game Need for Speed, the iconic BMW M3 GTR from 2005’s Most Wanted edition is one car you’ll probably never forget. The focus of the game was so centred around reclaiming this magnificent machine that it created a connection between player and car that has remained steadfast over the years.

In fact, its impact is so profound that it often secures the top spot on many lists for the most iconic video game cars. It’s no surprise, then, that you’ll discover a wealth of custom designs, both automotive and footwear-related (like the one we’re discussing), paying homage to the BMW M3 GTR from Need for Speed: Most Wanted.

In his nod to this renowned vehicle, Mr. Simply Custom has cleverly mirrored its unique aesthetics onto a pair of Nike Dunk Low sneakers. The result is a footwear tribute to a car that remains far from forgotten.

The Stunning Details of the Most Wanted BMW M3 Nike Dunk Low Sneaker

There’s an apparent likeness between the BMW M3 and these custom shoes. For instance, like the car they draw inspiration from, these stylish kicks boast a striking medley of blue, silver, and white hues on their exterior.

The BMW M3 Nike Dunk Low sneaker starts with a base of dark blue, skillfully contrasted by shades of lighter blue. These nuances replicate the reflection of light seen on the actual car model, truly showcasing the artist’s meticulous attention to detail.

This base of blue is then beautifully accentuated by silver detailing that is bordered by delicate white edging. This feature is a clear nod to the decals on the BMW’s body. This design element is further elevated by subtle tonal differences, adding depth and complexity to the overall aesthetic.

Of course, I did mention that attention to detail is evident in this design. As such, you’ll find all the iconic branding from the video game car brilliantly reflected here. Notice the “BMW” emblem strategically situated on the toe box. Meanwhile, the “M3” badge is thoughtfully positioned towards the heel.

Finishing touches on this spectacular Most Wanted BMW M3 Nike Dunk Low include a crisp white midsole and a black rubber outsole, mirroring the tyres of the car. Needless to say, meticulous attention has been paid to every single detail in the design and creation of this remarkable sneaker.
