If you had told most sneakerheads two years ago that Reebok would make a big comeback in 2025, and that it would be partially due to a signature sneaker from a WNBA player, they’d have told you straight to your face that you are lying. But here we are. Angel Reese’s first signature shoe, the Reebok Angel Reese 1, has left a huge mark on the sneaker scene. Everyone has been trying to snatch up a pair. But the colorways often sell out fast. Really fast. And my guess is that the same thing is about to happen with the Reebok Angel Reese 1 “Gala Green”.
The new AR1 sneaker is heavily inspired by Reese’s 2024 Met Gala look – that very revealing green-toned outfit she wore to make a statement. Those are her own words. She calls the design “inspired by those bold, statement-making looks and some of my favourite fashion moments.”
Reese dropped the announcement of the new colorway herself with a simple line on X: “In honor of Met Gala Week! 💚 Angel Reese 1: ‘Gala Green.’”
But the 8th colourway in Reese’s growing signature line isn’t made for fashion events, really. It’s made for the court.
It arrives as the Met Gala unfolds at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, which takes place every first Monday in May. The event draws athletes, actors, and designers who all try to outdo each other with fashionable looks. Reese is probably expected to show up in the sneakers. We’ll have to wait and see.
As for specs of the shoe, the “Gala Green” has the same tech as all the other Reebok Angel Reese 1 colorways: an Energy Return System (ERS) underfoot and a moulded TPU structure.

At $130 a pair, they’re not on the expensive side, either. They’re cheaper than most of the Jordans on the market right now.
And fans are excited about the shoes too. One fan screamed on X: “The crossover we needed: Met Gala fashion meets hoops. These are CLEAN.”
Timing always matters. Style always matters. And clearly, Angel Reese knows that and knows exactly when to show up, too.
