50 Cent has made a great comeback in the last year. First, his Netflix Diddy documentary did really well. Then, he was cast in the upcoming Street Fighter reboot. Now, his most popular sneaker, the G-Unit x Reebok G6, is making a comeback too.
In the early 2000s, 50 Cent was one of the world’s most popular rappers. He was everywhere, including shoe stores. Before we had Yeezys, kids were lining up outside shoe stores for the G-Unit x Reebok G6 in their oversized jeans (around the time Get Rich or Die Tryin’ dropped).
Then in 2025, Timothée Chalamet stepped out in a pair of G-Unit x Reebok boots during his Marty Supreme promo run and suddenly people were talking about the sneaker again. Now, in 2026, Reebok has decided to pull the sneaker out of the vault.
Tony Yayo confirmed on The Real Report podcast that G-Unit and Reebok are reuniting this summer, reviving the 2003 hip hop sneaker for a new generation.
“When we started selling shoes, the G-Unit shoes and Sean Carter shoes, that was a response to losing the bidding war to LeBron,” 50 Cent said during a 2012 interview with Power 106. “That probably was a huge success for me. I sold over $3.8 million pairs of sneakers.”
See, that’s the mistake everyone makes. 50 didn’t make $80 Million off the G-Unit x Reebok G6, but rather his entire partnership with Reebok.

The original G6 colorways sold out fast during their first run. Will 50 Cent be able to do the same all these years later? Sneaker culture looks very different in 2026. And most of today’s kids probably don’t even know what Get Rich or Die Tryin’ is. But having Timothée Chalamet wearing them probably helps a lot.
