Air Force 1 Tiffany & Co Sneakers Are Hot Right Now

The Nike Air Force 1 x Tiffany & Co. collaboration was one of the most highly anticipated collaborations of the year. Of course, when the world’s leading luxury jewellery brand teams up with one of the most iconic sneaker brands to dress one of the most beloved silhouettes, you expect nothing short of greatness. Unfortunately, many fans felt like the collaboration didn’t quite live up to their expectations. Criticisms centred around the design being overly simplistic and the choice of black not reflecting the essence of the brand’s identity. Yet, despite the mixed reactions, the design rapidly sold out. Still, one can’t help but wonder about the lost potential of this collaboration.

Thankfully, talented sneaker artist Andrew Andrew Chiou (@andu.c) has stepped up to give his own interpretation of what the collaboration could have been – and I have got to say that his vision is truly remarkable. He beautifully melds Tiffany’s distinctive colour palette with the ageless appeal of Air Force 1 to construct a harmonious design. So, without further ado, let’s delve into Chiou’s picturesque creation.

In contrast to the original sleek black nubuck upper, Chiou paints a soft grey suede canvas. The suede, covering the toe and toe box, extends to the eye stays and then back down to the collar and heel of the sneaker. The tongue doesn’t miss out on the grey infusion but switches it up with a plush corduroy material. You can spot the beautiful ridges of the fabric as they add texture and depth to the overall design.

Of course, no Tiffany design can be complete without the presence of their iconic turquoise blue colour. In a grand demonstration of this hue, the Swoosh, quarter panels, heel, lining and laces all sport the signature shade. Even the tongue label featuring tonal “Nike Air” branding takes a dip in the vibrant turquoise pool. What a beautiful sight to behold. The use of the vibrant turquoise blue throughout the sneaker adds a striking and eye-catching element to its overall design. It truly captures attention and makes a bold statement. Of course, I may be particularly biased as this happens to be one of my favourite colours. But I digress.

To further enhance the brand connection, we spot dainty ‘Tiffany’ lettering adorning the ankle and again resting beneath the ‘Nike Air’ branding on the tongue – a subtle yet sophisticated nod to the luxe jeweller.

Many fans did admire one element of the original design: the sterling silver co-branded plates on the heel. Sadly, the concept design by Chiou doesn’t include these embellishments. Instead, we see the original lace dubraes of the Air Force 1 in a silver hue. It’s not quite sterling silver, but an understated touch nonetheless.

However, the missing sterling silver elements by no means detract from the beauty of this shoe. Adding to this beauty are the turquoise blue midsoles and grey rubber outsoles that perfectly conclude this design.

Whether Chiou’s conception will actualise as an upcoming custom release remains unknown. Yet, one thing is certain: sneaker enthusiasts would lap up this pair in a heartbeat. I would go so far as to say that this is the design many fans expected to see from the original Nike Air Force 1 x Tiffany & Co. release.

Of course, even if Nike did release this stunning take on their collaboration, there would be no guarantee of getting your hands on a pair. However, a custom release orchestrated by Chiou could offer more opportunities for fans to bag these unique sneakers.

So, if you want to get your hands on a pair of these stylish kicks from Chiou, keep checking his platforms to stay ahead of his next drop. He is brimming with great ideas for sneaker designs. Until then, you can follow us for more sneaker customs and concepts.
