Travis Scott might not be the tastemaker he once was (at least according to a few loud voices on Instagram), but the man still knows how to get sneakerheads talking. And that’s exactly what he did, again, when he stepped out at Nike’s Toma El Juego finals in LA, not only to perform, but to drop some sneaker heat no one saw coming: the Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Dunk Low.

The event itself wasn’t just another concert or promo gig. Nike’s Toma El Juego (Take The Game) youth soccer tournament brought together top young talent from all over Los Angeles, with a heavy cultural twist. Think less suburban weekend league and more street-style-meets-football fiesta. The finals were powered by everyone from Kids of Immigrants and Undefeated to Nike’s own .Swoosh and SNKRS brands. Even Brazilian soccer star Vinícius Jr., Puerto Rican rapper Young Miko, and skateboarding prodigy Rayssa Leal pulled up. But all eyes were on Travis.

After his JackBoys 2 performance, Travis surprised the MVP winners with two-year Nike endorsement deals. Yeah, actual contracts. That alone would’ve made headlines, but then came the shoes.

On-foot, he debuted what has now been confirmed as the Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Swamp Sponge Dunk, an unreleased sneaker that looks like it walked straight out of a Nickelodeon fever dream. Puffy panels, exposed seams, exaggerated padding. Basically, everything about this pair screams “anti-slick” in the most CPFM way possible. If you remember the Sponge By You Blazers from 2019, this feels like a chaotic cousin, or maybe the evolved form.

The colourway Travis wore was officially tagged as Sequoia/Sequoia/Sequoia (IH5094-300), but two other combos are coming too: Photo Blue/Digital Pink/Sequoia (IH5094-400) and Psychic Purple/Photo Blue/Gold Suede (IH5094-500). Try saying that five times fast.

Retail? $150. Release window? This fall. Reactions online? Predictably divided.

One user wrote, “Sold out just bc Travis had it on.” Another wasn’t impressed: “These HORRIBLE I’m sorry.” Someone else questioned his influence, saying, “Travis is no longer relevant in the sneaker world.” Ouch. Another chimed in with, “Trav corny now. He never evolved.” And someone went full burn with “Worst kicks ever seriously!! They no standouts never were, none!”

But let’s be real. Every time people say Travis is done, his sneakers still sell out in minutes. Hype fades, sure, but his collabs with Jordan, Nike, or even CPFM have never really sat on shelves. Are these Swamp Sponge Dunks for everyone? Definitely not. But they weren’t designed to be. They’re weird, loud, and unapologetically niche.

Scott isn’t just coasting on old collabs. He’s still in the trenches of the sneaker game, bringing weird to the forefront, and taking chances that most artists wouldn’t dare try. The Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Dunk Low might just pop up on the biggest sneakers of 2025 list, thanks to Travis Scott.
